Call out for musicians aged 16-25: Music at the Museum

If you’re 16-25, working towards a music career and want to be inspired this summer – join experimental folk rock band Firefly Burning for ‘Music at the Museum’ – a week-long residency of collaborative songwriting and music-making.

Taking inspiration from the incredible collections at Manchester Museum, you’ll spend five days from 8-12 July writing, creating and performing new music under the artistic guidance of award-winning artists John Barber and James Redwood from the band Firefly Burning.

You’ll get the chance to:

  • Gain an insight into the creative processes of established artists
  • Collaborate with other musicians
  • Develop your songwriting, arranging and performance skills
  • Perform in a special twilight gig at Manchester Museum on Thu 12 July

“When you collaborate, you end up making music which is far greater than the sum of its parts. The final performance will feature the new music we make on the project alongside songs from our new album. It’s going to be a totally immersive week and we can’t wait!” – Firefly Burning
