Child Protection & Safeguarding Course

Event description

Of benefit to individuals and organisations looking to update their understanding of child protection legislation and best practice, this course provides a full update on current child protection legislation, including Categories of Abuse, the Disclosure and Barring service, Duty to Refer and Working Together.

The course will provide in-depth practical advice to help you develop sensible structures and build confidence around child protection issues, within the context of developing and delivering creative and cultural projects for children and young people. The course also includes an online safeguarding section, exploring current guidance and best practice for the online environment, helping you to identify and consider the updated risks and how this can impact on your own policy and practice.

This training day will be split over two sessions:

Session 1: Tuesday 17th August, 10am - 12.30pm

Session 2: Thursday 19th August, 10am - 12.30pm

Training will run using Zoom video conferencing. Full joining information will be sent once we have received your booking. You do not need a Zoom account in order to take part in this training, but you will need access to a computer or smartphone that has video capabilities.

Our courses are interactive with a combination of polls, break out rooms and open discussions. We also use several platforms to provide resources and tools to support the training session. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your learning and ask questions in order to gain the most out of the session.

Course Cost:

Full price: £75 per person

Bursary price: £45

We are pleased to offer a limited number of bursary places for this course, priced at £45 per person. Bursary places are available for individuals that meet the below criteria, and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
