Chinese New Year

Hello everyone! Welcome to the wonderful world of Leaps and Bounds EYFS music.

Week 1:

This week we pretended to be Chinese Dragons. We ‘danced’ and ‘pranced’, ‘hopped’ and ‘shook our tails’ around the room. Check out the song ‘See the Dragons Dance and Prance’ by The Kiboomers!

We used red floaty material as a tunnel for the dragon to pass under. We even had floating bubbles! To create more atmosphere we used the notes of the pentatonic scale (C D E G A) to improvise on the glockenspiel and we added gentle shaking, tapping sounds using the rhythm ‘hop, hop, hop’.

The children made lovely music and moved ever so gracefully.
