Cranbrook Music Sessions

Cranbrook is a brand new town just outside Exeter in Devon. Wren Music is working with the younger residents, to build on the strong community atmosphere that is forming in the town.

This summer saw some very successful open music sessions as we head into the final stages of this project that will culminate with a finale in November.

We worked on a few traditional tunes with several young people discovering new instruments and one young person rekindling his love of guitar, we also sang a lot of songs and at the request of the group had to sing some rounds, one of the girls is self taught in BSL and ASL so she showed the group how to sign a song. We then used old fairy tales to make a story into music, we then made a street band with drums and went for a short tour of the car park. This woke up most of the neighbourhood and generated a lot of interest for the upcoming term of workshops starting next week.
