The time spent on this course has been a journey for the young people. Initially they struggled to identify their own skills and strengths, which was sometimes met with a "I don't know", I'm not sure I can do this”

However, as the weeks have progressed, the group’s confidence has grown, expressing their views on societal issues and own experiences through using Art and use of their assertiveness to interact with others too. We have completed workshops on song writing, creating their own beats using beat pads and their own musical instruments and the young people have chosen to create a song as a final piece.

The young people have listed their own skills, found their voices when discussing their own needs and  communicating their needs and developing personally in a safe way using different creative outlets.

As a tutor, I have enjoyed watching all the young people develop self-confidence and critically analysing the world around them. Really impressed with their musical knowledge and understand how lyrics and art helps people to express themselves.
