Event description
Beginners start from scratch with a ten-week course with the option to join the new Harmonica Choir after five lessons. Learn the fundamental techniques and some simple blues, country and folk tunes (with a bit of Beethoven thrown in). All lessons are taught on diatonic harmonicas in C. The Hohner Silver Star is a good starter model. We can supply instruments on request. Available at the Box Office, £11 each.

Tutor and Harmonica virtuoso Mat Walklate will dispel the myths and reveal the mysteries.

Harmonica Choir is a new group for all players from basic level to advanced. Learn to play tunes from blues, folk, classical, jazz and popular music in parts arranged to suit all abilities. A fun way to harmonise as a group and learn new skills and tunes in the process. The Harmonica Choir runs from 7pm for an hour and a half immediately after the beginners course finishes.
This series runs over 10 weeks and is led by the renowned blues and Irish traditional harmonica virtuoso and teacher Mat Walklate. Mat currently plays with the Irish traditional group, The House Devils.

This course is open to all ages and abilities as part of the Creative Music Programme at Band on the Wall, produced by Brighter Sound. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
