Manchester Youth Jazz Foundation Autumn Weekender 2015

Brighter Sound and Manchester Youth Jazz Foundation are looking for creative young musicians aged 11-18 to take part in a weekend course at Band on the Wall, which explores new and interesting ways into jazz composition and improvisation. Featuring noted multi-instrumentalist and improviser Richard Ormrod, this project is for anyone with an interest in developing their creative, musical and improvisation skills and in working as an ensemble to devise new and innovative music.
The course will begin on the Saturday at 12.30pm, and will consist of a group masterclass led by Richard, followed by creative sessions with a team of experienced jazz tutors providing expert support, advice and guidance. At the end of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, there will be a short premier performance on stage at Band on the Wall.
Richard Ormrod arranges for, educates and conducts musicians of all ages and abilities, in both musicianship and improvisation at projects such as Dales Jam and the Jam Factory.

Please note, applicants must be aged 11-18 and be available for the whole weekend to attend all sessions and performance.
