FACE TO FACE FIRST STEPS

As a first step Steelworks Steel Band have been able to start some face to face sessions again. Delivered over a 2 day summer holiday camp in Middlesbrough the event was supported by MUSINC (Fund C Holder). This really gave us an insight into how we feel the 'new normal' will be for us (and maybe all of us for a while). Particpants socially distanced, breaks to sanitise hands and equipment and highly supervised movement around the venue following one way guidance. This way of working didn't detract from the enjoyment that our young people showed, both in developing individual skills on pans, and in playing together as an ensemble. Our next step has been to deliver sessions in a school for children and young people with Autism, working with specific bubbles. As always we are keen to build links with organisations similar to us just to see how others are working, share good practice and learn a thing or two....
