Latest Youth Music Funding Awards Update - Fund B13

For our last Fund B round, we awarded 17 projects around the country a grant of up to £150,000 each. Here’s a summary of some of the projects receiving investment – a complete list can be found at the end of this blog post. 

Ace dance and music (West Midlands) are working in a consortium wtih Legacy Centre of Excellence, Black Voices and Black Arts Forum. Along with Royal Birimingham Conservoatires and Rockschool Limited they are developing a music production training programme for 16 - 25 yr olds in Birmingham. 

Creativity Works Preston (North West) are focusing on employment and progression for young people in Preston; offering support around creating self employment in the creative industries for young people and a foundation programme with progression to higher education. 

Fairbeats (London) work with young refugess, asylum seekers and newly arrived migrants and their families. They are creating a model of youth leadership best practice and continuing music-making with 3-11 yr olds across four partner centres as well as extending their programme in Lewisham to 11-16s. 

Helix Arts (North West) will be running an inclusive music programme across Northumberland . They'll be working in partnership to support and develop a diverse range of young people facing challenging circumstances, amplifying their voice. This will especially include young people who are at risk of offending or are affected by offending behaviour, and young people with disabilities. 

High Peak Community Arts Ltd (East Midlands) are running their 'Resonate Rebound' project, placing music at the heart of their Youth and Families Programme, building on their learning from past programmes. They'll be supporting early years music participation, working in schools to reach those least likely to explore music and providing out of school music provision and performing arts with extensive progression. 

Music Fusion (South East) aim to access some of the county's most complex and vulnerable young people through musical progression pathways including taster sessions, 1-2-1 mentoring, rehearsing, recording and performing as well as artist development. Using music as a tool for reflection, they aim to build participants' confidence, critical thinking and resilience. 

The Garage Trust (East of England) are running an inclusive music programme for young people from across Norfolk and Suffolk, providing much needed high quality musical progression opportunities, supporting them from complete beginner to pre-professional. The programme provides a variety of first engagement activities, progression routes and performance opportunities, and will actively support those who face challenging circumstances.
