Give a Gig Week: cancellation

We are sorry to announce that we have taken the decision to cancel all Youth Music organised Give a Gig Week events, due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. This includes the Jake Bugg and Josef Salvat events at Omeara, CamelPhat at Orange Yard, Novelist at Peckham Audio, GIRLI at DMs Boot Room, and the Marshall-sponsored event with BLOXX, Valeras, Bang Bang Romeo and Natalie Shay at Omeara. All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. We plan to reschedule all events at a later date.

Give a Gig is a fan-organised fundraising initiative, and we recognise that there are other events which may still be going ahead. However we have taken this decision in light of social distancing measures, and we have contacted all event organisers to let them know we've chosen to cancel.

We join other creative industry organisations in calling on the government to provide urgent clarity on procedure for entertainment events and venues. The current lack of shutdown is leading to financial difficulties, uncertainty, and risk to public health.

Music is a lifeline to the young people supported by the projects we fund, and many will miss out over the coming weeks. We will be doing everything we can to support them, and the sector, throughout this difficult time.

A massive thank you to all the artists, venues and fans who have donated their time and money to support Youth Music through Give a Gig.
