Opportunity for free narrative evaluation resources from Global Giving
Hi Outcomes and Evaluation group members - a colleague of mine from the Nominet Trust shared this opportunity for a new narrative approach to needs analysis and evaluation. Looks like an interesting opportunity...
GlobalGiving UK is currently recruiting UK charities to join their storytelling-grantwriting training programme. This will provide digital tools and training for charities to understand the needs of their community, successfully evaluate programmes, improve projects, and raise more funds.
Through a similar programme in East Africa (2010-2012), GlobalGiving worked with partners to develop a story-based approach to map community needs and provide rapid and useful data to improve projects and fundraising. The programme involves individuals collecting stories from people in the community. Stories are analysed to create useful data providing insight into the needs of the community and the impact of local services. Story data can be used to improve project delivery and as usable needs-evidence in grant writing.
This programme is for UK charities working with people in the UK. You, and your charity, must be keen to learn about your community, and be open to improving the projects you deliver through community feedback. Your charity must also plan to write at least 2 grant funding proposals in 2014. The programme requires a commitment of 5 days over the year. To express your interest in the programme, please apply here by 21st February (5pm). More information at www.globalgiving.co.uk/storytelling or contact Rachel Smith rsmith@globalgiving.co.uk
