Introducing Young Somersets Rural Music Network Project

Opportunities for Young people to volunteer in Somerset, to gain “hands on” experience with working within the music industry at different levels and areas of work experience.

The Rural Music Network Project have three groups they are recruiting for, commencing September – December 2019.

These groups are: 

1) RMN Project October – December Tour, Music Acts. 8 music acts to go on a 3 month tour in 8 different music venues across Somerset, BANES & Bristol. (See below for more info) 2) RMN Project Tour Production Team, we are recruiting 4 – 6 young people that are looking for “hands on experience” of working within the music industry, within Live Sound engineering, Tour events management, Stage Lighting, Music Promotion and Stage Management. This team of young people will plan, promote and deliver the Tour. The team meet weekly commencing September, on Thursday evenings, locations of meetings can be flexible. A poster for this opportunity will be sent out on a separate email very soon. 3) RMN Project Media Team (4 – 6 young people). This is a 4 month training and “live” media project. Training will be provided by Media Professionals from Frome FM, meetings will commence September 2019 on Wednesday evenings from 5.30pm – 7.30pm and the media team will attend every RMN Project Tour gig, to film and “live stream” the events. The aim of the Media Team is to collate film material of the RMN Project Tour and produce a “fly on the wall” documentary film of the Tour.
