King James Rock and Pop Institute win Battle of the Bands!

Three bands from the King James Rock and Pop Institute performed at a sold out Gala Theatre in Durham on Friday the 22nd of June. The event was organised by the Durham Music Service and many acts from across the county were competing for the top prize, which was a chance to play at the Sage Gateshead Music Showcase in Hall One and a trip to a professional studio to record a song and music video. After a great night full of excellent performances from all the bands that entered, the King James Rock and Pop Institute band Manifested Hope were crowned the winners on the night.

When the Rock and Pop Institute began two years ago, all the members were taken on a trip to The Sage Gateshead to watch a Classic Rock Show. It seems fitting that one of our bands will get the chance to perform on that very stage at the end of this great project. Well done to all the bands that took part!
