Latest Youth Music Funding Awards Update - Fund B15
For our last Fund B round, we awarded 15 projects around the country a grant of up to £150,000 each.
Here’s a summary of some of the projects receiving investment – a complete list can be found at the end of this blog post.
AudioActive (South East) will be running a continuation and scaling up of their existing Sessions programme across Worthing and Crawley to contribute towards a sub-regional 'Centre of Excellence' for socially engaged work in the Greater Brighton area. This will include workforce and organisational activities to build the quality, inclusivity and relevance of the workforce and leadership as AudioActive grows.
AutismAble (North East), will deliver an innovative and inclusive music based partnership programme, which at its heart will increase participation of disadvantaged and vulnerable hard to reach young people. They'll develop their music skills, self confidence and self belief in order to positively affect their future lives.
Bradford Community Broadcasting (Yorkshire & The Humber) will offer music-focused media and radio broadcasting opportunities for disadvantaged young people from across Bradford District. Through regular training sessions, workshops and individual mentoring, they'll develop skills, confidence and practical experience of producing and presenting music focused radio, encouraging self expression and providing a voice for young people.
Creative Arts East (East of England) will run a community-led, place-based music engagement programme, which enables participation and confidence-building in music making to support a life-long relationship with creativity and culture. It will also develop career knowledge and skills for children and young people across rural and under-served communities across East Anglia.
Creative Futures (UK) Limited (London) will be running Sound Communities (II), an early years programme in 10 Brent nursery settings each year, consisting of a mix of group CPD sessions and in-setting delivery. It will support multiple facets of children's development, provide high quality music experiences, and embed early years music across 30 settings and the wider borough.
Knowle West Media Centre (South West) over 2 years through a series of workshops and live perfomances will support young people aged 10-16 to develop musical skills and self-belief. The project, Sound Wave, will support a new network for emerging music facilitators in Brisol, connecting them, providing shared training opportunities and strengthening the city's music network.
Live Music Now (National) will run a national programme of music support for disabled children and young people accessing special school provision and autism resource bases Delivering 24 residencies in partnership with Music Education Hub partners in Somerset, Harrow and Liverpool, they'll embed workforce training, research, resources and advocacy to improve children and young people's music education.
Quench Arts (West Midlands) will be providing creative music making opportunities for young people in Birmingham and Coventry aged 12-25 facing barriers to music-making due to being mental health inpatients. Through workforce development it will embed sustained music provision in youth inpatient settings, sharing project learning and impact regionally.
Reform Radio (North West) will be building on previous successful Soundcamp projects, providing transformational opportunities to 12 new young artists (and 20 early career), enabling them to progress into viable careers in the music industries.
Soft Touch Arts (East Midlands) will be, over three years, providing developmental opportunities for young music leaders who will co-deliver a programme designed to encourage the musical and personal development of young people with challenging life circumstances from Leicester and Leicestershire who may need support to reach their potential.

These projects are funded using National Lottery investment via Arts Council England.
