Urban Orchestra: Cross Genre 2 Day Project
In February we held a two day cross genre project in collaboration with Readipop and OCM. Where six young people from different musical backgrounds collaborated to make a new piece of experimental music.
Over the 2 day project, the young people looked at different ways to make music through using music technology such as Garageband on an Ipad, Korg Kaoss pads, Ableton Push, and using familiar instruments in new ways to create abstract sounds and compose music in a non-traditional way.
The final peice was composed and structured using a story that came out of story boards produced by the young people:
Parents attended for a final performance at the end of the two days.
