Simon D'souza

Everybody here at Rhythmix would like to express our sorrow and sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Simon D'souza, who very sadly passed away this week.

Simon was an exceptional musician, teacher and inspirational figure who was a big influence on our work and on many others, guiding the early stages of Rhythmix and providing us with a 'critical friend' that helped us build this project. Simon was always a great friend, someone you turned to when you needed advice and support, and many of our musicians owe a deep debt to Simon for inspiring them to become involved in this type of work. A huge number of young people have enjoyed opportunities that would never have come their way without his campaigning, demanding, and insisting that they mattered.

On Sunday 25th May, "100 Saxophones Rides Again" will be performing outside the unitarian church on New Road in Brighton, marking 10 years since Simon's original event. They will be fundraising for The Brain Tumour Charity. You can make a donation at JustGiving -https://www.justgiving.com/100SaxophonesRidesAgain

Simon - You were a joyful, wonderful and inspriational person. Thank you for everything you did, you will be sorely missed.
