Great newspaper cutting from the Northampton Chronicle and Echo on the work young carers did over Easter with Salamanda Tandem and the Northamptonshire Music Education Hub Inclusion Team.
We were particularly pleased with this project for a number of reasons:
- It's our first big project with one of our newest partners, Northamptonshire Carers.
- Northamptonshire Carers managed to get some additional match funding in from The Sir Michael Tippett Foundation, which really boosted the resources we were able to bring to bear and give the young carers a really special experience.
- We got to use some of the new music tech that we'd got through a grant from the local Crime and Police Commissioner.
- It was a brilliant opportunity for the Musical Inclusion team to work alongside Duncan Chapman and Isabel Jones from Salamanda Tandem and experience their unique approach to group work and musical expression.
And, perhaps most importantly, it's given the partnership additional momentum to create a host of follow-up opportunities for the young carers over the coming months.
