Moog Sound Lab Open Studio Competition!
The Ace Hotel in Shoreditch, London, is offering Youth Music Network members an amazing chance to win a dedicated session in the Moog Sound Lab.
Moog Music Inc (USA) has generously loaned the Moog Sound Lab to the Ace Hotel to celebrate the life and work of Bob Moog - creater of the Moog synthesiser - through his amazing inventions.
The Ace Hotel is offering 12 lucky people the chance to win a session exploring the Sound Lab. Winners will attend one of the two-hour sessions taking place between Wednesday 19 and Friday 21 August 2015.
About the prize In this two-hour sonic experience you’ll have full access to the Moog Sound Lab under the guidance of Finlay Shakepeare, the Sound Lab's traveling technical engineer. Since the Moog Sound Lab landed in the UK, Finlay has worked with The Will Gregory Moog Ensemble & Charlemagne Palestine, Suicide, and Keith Emerson to name but a few. He will be recording the sounds created over the three days and crafting them into an ‘Open Studio’ track.

“There is a level of reality where there is no time and there is no space…there’s just energy. And we have contact with that through the intermediate lanes. So if the right channels, if the right connections, are established, I don’t see why a piece of matter – a piece of broken glass or an old record – can’t make contact through this very high level of reality that has access to everything, past and future. – Dr. Robert Moog (from the film ‘Moog’)”
