Sage Gateshead and Musinc Practitioner Residential Weekend
Shepherds Dene Practitioners Weekend Residential The Teesside and north east musical inclusion weekend Hosted by Sage Gateshead’s CoMusica Inclusion project and in partnership Musinc, Teesside’s musical inclusion resource project.
Dates: Friday 19 – Sunday 21 February 2016
Venue: Shepherds Dene, Riding Mill, Northumberland, NE44 6AF
The aim of this weekend is to provide an opportunity for music leaders working with young people in challenging circumstances to meet, reflect, share practice and consider how musical inclusion can be developed and sustained. The weekend will provide dedicated time and space for us to meet, talk, share experiences and make connections with others. ‘We’re all performers now!’ – This year we look at musical inclusion through the prism of performance. We’ll be thinking about the place and role of performance in a musically inclusive approach, working together to identify critical factors, and looking at the meaning of ‘performance’ in an increasingly digitised world. All catering and accommodation will be provided free of charge in the beautiful and relaxing surrounding of the Shepherds Dene retreat in Northumberland: www.shepherdsdene.co.uk. Accommodation would be in single and twin rooms, with some day places available. Numbers will be limited; with places allocated to ensure representation from across the areas, and from a range of projects, approaches and genres. If you have any questions, or would just like to talk to us about the weekend please contact: Taylor Payne, CoMusica Project Manager, Sage Gateshead: E: taylor.payne@sagegateshead.com M: 07871959737
