Making Music in Libraries

Our vision for Barnet Libraries is 'Libraries for Learning, Libraries for Leisure, Libraries for Life.... at the heart of our Communities'. The 'Making Music Makers' project really embraces this by providing free music making opportunities for families with very young children in libraries across the borough.

We have been incredibly lucky to find the very talented Lucy Drever to deliver part of the project. Last week an amazing 113 children and 106 parents, carers or practitioners came along to Let's Make Music! events in libraries in Finchley and Edgware. We have targetted children from nursery classes at Edgware primary school and Moss Hall Nursery School.  The sessions were great fun and very noisy with lots of children enjoying our new collection of instruments. At one point we had a three part orchestra with three sections, drums, bells and shakers!
