Map Making

Part of our Youth Music project is to enhance the networks that exist for local musicians in the Bradford District.

But if you're new to the scene, how do you find out about what there is, and where it is?

We decided to make an online map - easier said than done until we discovered uMap

I'm not paid by them, and don't have any connection other than we've used the platform to make a map of the music network in Bradford

One really nice feature is that you can have multiple collaborators working on the same map. It's also free to create maps (and the map data has even been crowdsourced by the hugely impressive Open Stret Map project)

These kind of resources do go out of date, and keeping them up to date is difficult unless people push the data to you.

It is a work in process, but has already been useful as a way of engaging young people and other people involved in our project.
