MFY National Festival: Workshop Remix your Songwriting with Bridget Walsh

Event description

Music for Youth National Festival - REMIX 2021

Across 5 days, Music For Youth will be hosting an exciting programme of free events including interactive workshops, online performances, behind the scenes content, top picks, interviews and more!

Our theme this year is Remix 2021, celebrating the amazing ways that teachers, music leaders and young people have adapted, innovated, reimagined, reconfigured and rearranged how they make music together.

Workshop: Remix your Songwriting with Bridget Walsh

When you’re a musician or artist, the act of creating can be a very valuable tool in helping to share and process experiences and emotions, heartaches and triumphs and all sorts of stories inbetween. Sometimes you’re writing for a specific purpose, a specific show, a specific brief or a specific band - sometimes you’re writing for the joy, the healing or simply just for you. And some days, the creative flow comes a lot more naturally than others…

In this 90 minute workshop, international touring artist, bandleader and composer, Bridget Walsh (@lovefrombridget), will guide you through some different ways you can approach and change up your songwriting - whether it’s to help shift a writer’s block, to get a fresh perspective, or simply just for the fun of trying something new with your craft. The workshop is open to musicians at all stages of their songwriting journeys, but will be most valuable for those with an interest in lyric-writing and storytelling with words - even if this workshop is your first time doing it!

For 16 - 21 year olds
