Music Lab Tutors: Joe Streames
Joe Streames is one of the tutors on the Music Lab project, and our resident expert on rhythm and drumming.
He has been drumming for over 14 years now, and enjoys anything from jazz to metal, rock to pop, funk to soul. He has also been in several bands, as well as using his experience to write a children's rhythm theory book. He has a degree in music performance, and has done a lot of research into music and its effect on the brain, mostly with mental health and cognitive development. In his own words, "this is why I'm so passionate about music, because I know the incredible benefits it can have on people's lives".
Attached is a video of Joe working alongside Peter Hurton of local Hull band Yesterday95, as well as musician Matthew Brown, on a cover of Knights of Cydonia as part of our lockdown Music Lab videos.
