This is the Place - A practical guide to Early Years music-making
Event description
Music-making with care-experienced babies and children in Darlington
Join Blue Cabin for the afternoon to explore how and why music-making supports attachment and devlopment for care-experienced babies and children.
Lead by:
- Carol Bowden (MA) - Musician and Researcher, Blue Cabin Associate Artist and former respite foster carer. Carol is one of the musicians working on This is the Place (a programme developed especially for care-experienced babies and children in Darlington)
- Dr Ryan Humphrey - Blue Cabin Trustee and lecturer at Manchester University - specialising in community music and cultural policy.
There will be refreshments, cake and an opportunity to hear more about some of the theory behind why music can be a useful tool to use with children and babies. You'll also have the opportunity to explore a few practical examples.
We will also provide you with access to Blue Cabin's free early years music-making resources, including songs, a podcast and video, all designed to help you use music with care-experienced babies and children.
