CoMusica Music Bites Session 1 - Working with SEN/D
On Wednesday 20th of January Sage Gateshead and CoMusica Inclusion held the first of their Music Bites taster sessions
Music Bites Session 1 – An Introduction to working with Special Educational Needs and/or DisabilitiesOn Wednesday 20th of January Sage Gateshead and CoMusica Inclusion held the first of their Music Bites taster sessions. The session was focused on working with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities and was led by CoMusica Programme Leader Matt Sokell and co delivered with Community Music Sparks member Mark Andrews.
A group of diverse music practitioners attended the session and were led by Matt and Mark through an initial discussion on the context of each person’s practice followed by a series ofSEN/D focused ice breakers, games and activities. The session was closed with a question and answer session with ideas for musical engagement being shared amongst the group.
The next music bites session at Sage Gateshead will take place on the 24th of February and will focus on working with Looked After Children and will be led by Sage staff members Eleanor Mooney and Adam Cogdan. Click here for more info
