New strategies using the piano for children with autism - research help needed

A PhD student is exploring the use of the piano to promote musical skills and wider learning in children with autism and learning difficulties.

Wei Sam Soo says:

"I am a PhD student at Roehampton University studying under the supervision of Professor Adam Ockelford. My research explores the use of the piano to promote musical skills and wider learning in children with autism and learning difficulties.

"New strategies using the piano for children with autism have been developed based on the thinking underpinning the ‘Sounds of Intent’ framework. These are available at http://www.soipianoautism.com. I am looking for music teachers, music practitioners, instrumental teachers, music educators and music therapists to evaluate these strategies by viewing them online and answering three short questions in relation to each, which should take about a minute. There are 58 videos in total and each lasts approximately a minute or less. You can watch and complete as many evaluations as you like.

"Teachers who participate in the evaluation will receive a full updated version of the framework at the end of the research project."

The deadline for completing the evaluation is 31st March 2017.
