Sounds Of The City - Inspiring the broadcasters of tomorrow, today!

How is Community Radio in Bradford helping to broaden young people's musical tastes, develop communication skills and raise aspirations.

Our Sounds Of The City project has allowed us to develop a strand of broadcasting for young people. The project has supported the recruitment and training of new volunteers and provided them with a platform to develop skills and explore their musical tastes. The Media landscape has gone through some profound changes. Social Media has provided musicians and content creators new ways to share and connect with their audience but the opportunities and support Community Radio provide still play an essential role in developing the broadcasters of tomorrow.   Our Youth Music project has supported meaningful opporunties for young people to develop communication skills and gain experince working in the music and media industries. As these two case studies will illstrate.
