The young people were well aware of the prominence of these performances and by extension the level of professionalism demanded of them. To rise to the occasion in these settings, the singers knew their repertoire needed to be highly polished and refined. They also recognised that to achieve this, the rehearsals demanded their full attention and the project their commitment.
Using professional venues also requires the young singers to exercise professional skills in terms of working with venue managers, performance and arrival timings and working alongside other performers.
