Participant-led music improvisation
In our Heart Beats project, we're seeing real proof that music is a powerful tool for peer communication.
In every session we establish themes, and then lead improvisations on these themes with a series of agreed gestures and physical prompts. In this film you can see two of our group taking the lead - and doing that most difficult of things, co-leading. This way of creating music encourages eye contact, listening, and nurtures a group mind. Spontaneous joy often results!
