Safeguarding Adults at Risk

This course has been designed for individuals and organisations looking to update their understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice, specifically when working with adults at risk in the creative, cultural and heritage sectors.  You will explore what is meant by the term “adults at risk” in the context of your work and will develop approaches for recognising and responding to the different types of abuse associated with adults at risk.

This engaging course will look at sector specific case studies and examples and will offer practical advice and tools to help you develop sensible structures and build confidence around issues relating to working with adults at risk. You will spend some focused time exploring the particular challenges facing young adults (age 18-30). The course also includes an online safeguarding section, exploring current guidance and best practice to the online environment, helping you to identify and consider the updated risks and how this can impact on your own policy and practice.

This training day will be split over two days

Wednesday 8th December,10:00am-12:30pm

Wednesday 15th December,10:00am-12:30pm

Training will run using Zoom video conferencing. Full joining information will be sent once we have received your booking. You do not need a Zoom account in order to take part in this training, but you will need access to a computer or smartphone that has video capabilities.

  • Everyone working or looking to work, in the creative, cultural and heritage sectors with adults at risk.

You will gain:

  • Understanding of what is meant by the term 'adult at risk' in the context of your work
  • Knowledge of the forms that abuse may take
  • Understanding of how to identify signs and symptoms in your workplace
  • Confidence in reporting procedures
  • An overview of the legislation and guidance concerning safeguarding adults at risk

Course Cost: 

Full price: £75 per person  

Bursary price: £45 

We are pleased to offer a limited number of bursary places for this course, priced at £45 per person. Bursary places are available for individuals that meet the below criteria, and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

  • Disabled 
  • Part-time worker (2 days or less per week)
