Sage Gateshead/CoMusica
The CoMusica Inclusion Programme will enable children and young people in challenging circumstances to progress personally, musically and socially through sustained engagement in high quality music provision.
Provision will be supported through strategic partnerships, establishing networks, sharing practise and delivering training. Our aim is to train and support a workforce responsive to musical and social needs of young people experiencing challenging circumstances.
Over our 4-year programme CoMusica Inclusion will:
- Continue to develop strong musical inclusion networks of practitioners and organisations that include all Fund A/B holders in the region and MEHs.
- Forge stronger, wider and more varied pathways and progression routes for CYP experiencing challenging circumstances across a wide variety of settings
- Continue to increase workforce diversity and ensure skills, knowledge and experience are appropriate for delivering music for CYP living in challenging circumstances.
- Specifically support emerging practitioners from diverse and BME backgrounds to access training and practice development opportunities
- Develop progression routes, which enable practitioners from diverse and BME backgrounds to train other emerging practitioners from diverse and BME backgrounds
- Increase understanding of musical inclusion and increase musically inclusive practice within regional MEHs and MEH areas
- Increase musical inclusion and creative diversity in the North East and support a musically inclusive England
