Secondary Music Conference: Powering Up an Inclusive Music Curriculum

Event description

A one-day music education event for secondary music teachers at all stages of their careers hosted by the University of Sussex, in partnership with Create Music and West Sussex Music.

The event has been co-developed with colleagues in secondary schools and workshops have been designed in response to local needs.

Keynotes and workshops will focus on curriculum, inclusion, the DfE’s new National Plan for Music Education, and achieving greater collective impact through partnership working, along with opportunities for collaborative working.

The conference is FREE to attend for colleagues working in all secondary schools in East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove and wider Sussex Partnership schools. Ticketed admission is available to colleagues working outside of Sussex.

The conference will feature keynote speeches from Christopher Stevens of Ofsted, and Emily Crowhurst of School 21.

Exhibitors

Exam boards will also be present at the conference in our exhibition space, including AQA, Eduqas, OCR, Pearson and RSL, who will be available to take your questions. We will also be joined by Future Creators who will be available to discuss Digital Badges.
