Self Promotion for Your Music Business

One of the toughest things about starting your own business is finding a way to put your product into the visual field of your potential clients. It doesn’t matter what service you are offering. Somewhere out there, either locally or globally, there is a network of individuals just waiting for your service or product. So, how do we reach them?

One thing I think a lot of new business start ups are concerned with is self promotion. No one wants to feel like all they do is talk about themselves and their business but these days it’s part of getting your name out there. You don’t have to look much further than your mobile phone to have access to millions of people. Chances are you use websites like Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn on a daily basis, well now it’s time to utilize them for your business needs.

Look for groups and communities of similar individuals and network. Create social media pages and content streams for your business and look into hashtags that would connect people to your business.

You can achieve all this for free. Post regular, interactive content and share it on your personal pages. You can even ask family and friends to share your content to broaden its reach.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and this is how Google (and other search engines) rank websites in the search listings. Ideally, you want to shoot for the top. When potential customers search for piano lessons in the Leeds area, I want my website to come out top.
