We explore creative music making through a variety of project work designed to give the group interesting and rewarding challenges and provide collaboration opportunities with the wider community. In this project we are looking at homemade instruments; exploring how they work and in what ways we can have fun playing them.  In this session the band members reflected on instruments they had seen and drew pictures of them so we could discuss how different intstuments work. We looked at the basic principles of amplicfication by stretching elastic bands over items like biscuit tins and tupperware containers. using different size elastic bands also was helpful when exploring pitch and the reason stringed instrumenets can create a variety of different pitches depending on the length and tension of the strings
