Soundwave Cumbria. Dischord Spaces DIY Music #3 The Citadel

Dischord

The third installment of the Dischord Spaces project.

Spaces is the theme of our latest DIY Music project. We run DIY music project annually, it's a hands on approach to exploring the different opportunities available to young people who might like to persue a career in music.

Through the project we demonstrate the many different roles involved in producing something like the video you see here.

Of course, we have a lot of fun while we do it, and a great time preparing to go on video shoots.

This time, we managed (eventully) to gain access to the Citadel buildings in Carlisle. Both of the buildings are courthouses built on Henry VIII's original City defences.

This is courtroom one, we have another video in the works in courtroom two.

The acoustic really suited voice well, lots of wood in crazy arrangements breaking up the standing waves around the singers then a high open ceiling that reverberated nicely.

The participants in this video are spread out between Cleator Moor near Whitehaven, Workington, Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith. Again, some met for the first time the day we made this video, but were singing together and making new friends in no time.

The song is a mashup the Dischord group put together themselves from some of thier favourite songs.
