Square Pegs Arts Music Programme - Square Pegs Singers November 2020 You've Got a Friend

Our 'music through the decades' theme continues with Carole King's You've Got a Friend. We chose this as, again the words resonate and are comforting at this time, but also, we wanted to do something quite different from the last couple of videos. We really enjoy how diverse and different our song choices are as it allows us to sing in lots of different styles and genres. 

This time, as luck would have it, there were exactly the same number of participants as lines in the song so we all had a line each as a solo, which was a nice way to showcase all of our voices individually. 

It was nice to spread the message of friendship at this time, and many people have said that this was a particularly moving video.

This song was also more challenging than some of the others that we had done, but one of the good things about the current format, is that we can rehearse as many times as we like, and there's no time limit or pressure to get it right straight away - we can watch the tutorial over and over again until we get it!

We're really pleased with how this one came out.
