A Steel Band for Young People with Autism

An Update.

Since the lockdown measures were put in place in March, Steelworks Steel Band,  a very acoustic music making group, have had to adapt our delivery through digital media, and digital  interaction mainly through regular class teachers . In the main we have used steel pan apps to give our young people the opportunity to engage with the project during what are difficult times for young people with Autism/ASD.

Following COVID Secure Guidelines, Steelworks are now in a position to deliver some face to face, one to one/small group activity at the end of August in preparation for schools returning in September. That’s the plan, we’ll have to see how it pans out ! ( no pun intended).

We would love to build and develop links with any groups similar to us out there.
