Training the Community Musician

Event description

Discussions, debate, sharing practice and networking at this Sound Sense symposium, held in partnership with Edinburgh Youth Music Forum and the University of Aberdeen

This two-day event aims to create a network focused on sharing 'the practice of teaching the practice' of Community Music. We will be exploring what we are teaching, how we're teaching it, where we teaching it, and finally, what issues we face teaching this emerging field. There will be opportunities for participants to work separately and creatively together in both theoretical and practical activities.

Day 1 of the symposia will offer a facilitated Open Space to inform the agenda for the sessions on Day 2. There will be opportunities for participants to work separately and creatively together in both discussion and musical activities.

Leading up to the event, participants who have booked on to the event will have the opportunity to feed into the content of the event, allowing the symposia to be tailored to those taking part. We will be doing this by adding confirmed delegates to a closed Facebook group and via email.
