Two care experienced young people learn guitar thanks to youth music funding
Through our Youth Music funded programme Boom Box, GMYN have been supporting two young people to learn guitar. This is an opportunity they would not have had without the fundng.
Boom Box is a 12-month music production project to reduce the social isolation and increase the confidence and self-esteem of care experienced young people across Greater Manchester. The project provides opportunities for looked-after children and care-leavers to create their own songs and music videos in a brand new studio, on site at GMYN.
GMYN creates opportunities so that disadvantaged young people from across Greater Manchester can take steps towards a positive future. Boom Box is a new addition to their portfolio of Care Experience Programmes and will be delivered in partnership with Memody CIC, a company that offers children and young people the chance to write and record songs with professional tutors.
