About

I'm a special needs music teacher based in London. I've been in special education for 38 years, teaching, training and publishing (9 years at The Resources for Learning Difficulties Team ILEA) The focus of my work is mainly around creative music-making with children and young adults with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, many of whom are on the autistic spectrum. I've published an interactive training and music resource book for the iBook Store called "The Improvise Approach" which is a guide book for non-music specialists, to enable them to run creative music-making sessions with individuals or in groups. It utilises the accessibility of the iPad (ThumbJam app - additional purchase, is the music instrument) combined with 10 specially composed music backing tracks to landscape and support the music session (included in the book). The website explains all about what it is and how it works: http://www.improviseapproach.com
