WE ARE HERE!! Spotlight on Practice 1 - Practitioners: Training and development for long-term impact and implementation
This short spotlight on practice shares the strategies and approaches we used on the project WE ARE HERE!! that have been successful in ensuring that the training courses resulted in long-term improvements in the skills and changes in the practice of the early years practitioners and their implementing our Songo programme as a core part of the activities they provide for the children they work with. The key aspects discussed include:
- The accessibility of approach, content and communication style of the training/ Music Leader team, resources and activities and integration with the Early Learning Goals
- Building supportive long-term relationships
- Developing the confidence of the practitioners
- How work is shared across a setting and integrated into the daily activities of the setting
Prepared and written by Musiko Musika’s Joint Artistic Directors (Rachel Pantin and Mauricio Venegas-Astorga) and Assistant Director (Laura Venegas-Rojas), it will be useful for any individual or organisation involved in devising and developing training and support for early years practitioners.
