Songo and the Early Learning Goals

This short spotlight on practice shares the tools and approaches we developed in the project WE ARE HERE!! to support early years practitioners, in particular integrating our work with the Early Learning Goals. 

As we considered the content for the book Songo (for Children, Early Years Settings & Practitioners) it became completely obvious that the way in which the Songo programme links with and supports the Early Learning Goals should be referenced throughout, because this is the primary tool that practitioners are using to plan activities and assess children’s progress.

Prepared and written by Musiko Musika’s Joint Artistic Directors (Rachel Pantin and Mauricio Venegas-Astorga) and Assistant Director (Laura Venegas-Rojas), this document will be useful for any individual or organisation seeking to improve their understanding of how music projects can best support children and practitioners within the context in which they are working.
