Writing and recording music remotely with a group of musicians with learning disabilities. Part 2: Ways to be creative

After a series of sessions utilising the basics of the video call platform Whereby to enable dicussion and our 'creative moment' sessions we moved to the popular platform Zoom. It has some very useful integrated fuctions. It would enable us to be more ambitious and to begin to devise music themed sessions that would be more diverse.

One of our warm ups which was enjoyable was utilising the whiteboard function in Zoom for exploring ideas with text and drawings. It worked well as a way to capture peoples thoughts at the beginning or end of sessions in much the same way as you mind do with a 'hopes and fears' exercise with post it notes etc.

The picture above are the thoughts the Carousel House Band had about working online and meeting together to make music in this new way
