About Youth Voice Week 2020

We’ve created Youth Voice Week to highlight the vital importance of listening to young people and involving them in shaping the future of the creative sector. In these times of great change, it’s more important than ever to consult young people about their needs and ideas, and work together to map out a vision for the future. Youth Voice is a vital part of equality, inclusion and diversity – by involving and collaborating with young people, our work becomes more representative, relatable and relevant.

Youth Voice Week is an interactive online schedule taking place across five days, allowing you to dip in and out of interesting and informative content to kickstart your youth voice journey, or take it to the next level. Whether you’re a producer, coordinator, programme manager, marketeer, senior leader or trustee, you’ll find inspiration and ideas you need to work more collaboratively with young creatives.

Don’t worry – this isn’t another non-stop video marathon! With a variety of activities designed to meet different needs and preferences, you’ll be able to pick and choose the moments that are most useful to you and your team. You can look forward to:

  • Exclusive new resources
  • Interactive sessions and live Q&As with expert guests
  • Bitesize content and daily challenges
  • Surgeries, advice and guidance.

Sound Connections has been supporting the creative sector in youth voice and inclusion for over 10 years and we are proud to present this programme, designed with young leaders from Wired4Music to ensure maximum relevance for you, your organisation and your young people.

Youth Voice Week kicks off a whole season of youth voice activity at Sound Connections, including a brand new training series which will also be announced in September. Watch this space!
