Long term commitment is the answer for developing aspiration in special education settings

Total Vocals is a great project to be part of and to lead. I've just been to run the group at Chatsworth High and Community College in Salford. Some of these guys have been singing with us since primary school and the contrast between them and groups just forming is very strong. So we are now 20 odd strong with the majority being young men in their teens. Confidence is sky high. I have a queue every week to sing solo on the mic. All of this is because they know and trust us and they have loads of positive experiences to draw on. If you are in a position to influence anyone please tell them that a long term approach will pay huge dividends.
