ScrapBand at Young Hustlers City Music Festival

The Hockley area in Nottingham City Centre has hosted an annual music festival for 10 years, bring over 250 acts to 35 stages the festival caters for adult and brings live music to all. Last year the Young Hustlers festival started up to bring family and youth activities to the fringe of the event. This year PlayWorks brought their ScrapBand down to join in with the music making.

We enjoyed bassoon making with children, their families and artist playing the festival got involve too.  The music at the event was complemented by our ScrapDrums and we lent our arts and craft knowhow to make placards and flags for the Young Hustlers Parade.

The ScrapBand team had a great time and children and adults alike were thrilled to make their very own LOUD bassoon to take home! We share practice with many organisation, learning how to make broccoli sing with School of Noise, learnt about vibrations with Ignite Futures, protested with Raise your voice, expressed our anger with Sojoandmouse and bopped along with Johnny and the Raindrops. It was a great day and made extra special our ScrapBand children were given the opportunity to experience a unique music and arts festival thanks to funding from Youth Music.
