About
‘Towards a musically inclusive Teesside’
musinc works with musicians, music and arts groups and organisations that support young people to build a musically inclusive Teesside, one where all young people, irrespective of background or personal circumstances, can take part in life changing music making.
We do this by
- developing and commissioning music activities for young people
- developing and supporting the ‘Teesside musical inclusion network’, a group of professionals from the youth, education and arts sectors who share practice and expertise
- enabling musicians and those who support young people to learn and to develop their skills
Our focus is on those most in need – young people (age 10 - 24) living in challenging circumstances in the local authority areas of Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar and Cleveland . We know that young people can bring about positive change in their lives by getting involved in music.
musinc is funded by the National Foundation for Youth Music and is hosted by Middlesbrough Council on behalf of the four Teesside local authorities .
