Diversifying Primary Music

Event description

In this 1.5 hour webinar led by Kay Charlton you will explore how to use diverse and inclusive music in your primary music lessons. The session will cover how to source repertoire from a range of genres, styles and traditions, including an exploration of the repertoire suggested in the Model Music Curriculum, and how to teach this effectively across performing, composing and listening activities. You will consider the term ‘world music’ and explore in depth four pieces of music from different continents that you could use with your class. On completing this webinar you will have a better understanding of global music and its creative application in the classroom and in ensembles.

You can join the webinar on Tuesday 12th November 2024 4pm-5.30pm, Wednesday 12th March 2025 4.15pm-5.45pm, or Tuesday 10th June 2025 4.30pm-6pm. There is also an online self-guided version available for anyone who cannot make any of the dates.
