I Can Play Gamelan!

Introducing a very special set of instruments that live at the University of York!

This film was created as part of the Sound Of Bronze programme run by the Department of Music at the University of York, supported by funding from Youth Music. Sound Of Bronze works to improve access to the University's set of Javanese gamelan instruments, and to develop the musical skills and confidence of the young people in our local community. 

With thanks to the National Centre for Early Music, Music4U and the I Can Play! project for supporting the creation of this film. I Can Play! helps D/deaf children to access music-making opportunities across York, the East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull.
