Innovate 2019 projects announced
We are pleased to announce our four successful Innovate projects for 2019-2020 as follows: 1. Road works. Led by Ciaran Thapar, Roadworks is a youth engagement programme for 16-25 year-old men using critical discussion and practical professional skill-building to collaboratively research the popularising phenomena of London drill and rap music. 2. Boys 4 Voice. Building a community of boys and young men in East London, particularly targeted at those in transition from primary-secondary school, that will develop leadership skills of young people and build confidence, musicianship and self-determination. Led by Living Song. 3. Beat Exchange. Testing bringing samba drumming into community spaces which cater to the needs of young people with a migration background. This project will consult with young people, and will support the development of workshop leaders. Led by Pumpkin Jigsaw. 4. Join: Qube Live Sessions. Developing a series of Jam sessions planned and managed by a group of entrepreneurial young people who have designed a programme they feel meets the needs of young creative musicians.
Innovate will enable these project ideas to be tested and reflected upon, leading to the development of models that can be replicated and rolled out.
